A consumer reporting agency may not include in any consumer report any records of arrest, indictment, or conviction of crime which, from date of disposition, release, or parole, predate the report by more than seven years. A portion of Section 605 is reproduced below for illustration purposes only.

A consumer reporting agency which furnishes a consumer report for employment purposes and which uses public record information likely to have an adverse effect upon a consumer's ability to obtain employment, must either notify the consumer of the fact that public record information is being reported by the consumer reporting agency, along with other information, or, must only report items of public record relating to arrests, indictments, convictions, suits, tax liens, and outstanding judgments which record the current public record status of the item at the time of the report.
