An expedited procedure for dispute resolution for reporting agencies is provided in Section 611 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act as amended by the Consumer Credit Reporting Reform Act of 1996. The consumer reporting agency must strictly comply with notice requirements and quick deletion of the disputed information. If the agency does comply, certain other procedures may not be required.

A copy of The Fair Credit Reporting Act, As Amended, and a copy of the FTC Official Staff Commentary to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the FTC Prescribed Notices are included under "Fair Credit Reporting Resources", available from LAWDOG Credit Reporting Center, or here. Use browser return button to return. Read Notices, Caution and Disclaimer. See "Expedited Dispute Proceduress" linked here. Link does not return to this page.
