Locating Consumers. When a debt collector is locating consumers, or "Skip Tracing," the rules of Section 804 must be followed. The rules below apply to "Any debt collector communicating with any person other than the consumer for the purpose of acquiring location information about the consumer." The term "location information" means a consumer's place of abode and his telephone number at such place, or his place of employment. See all sections below.
