U.C.C. &
Secured Transactions California's Unruh Act regulates the format and content of "retail installment contracts" and "retail installment accounts". In the event of a default by buyer, the seller (or assignee) may file suit for the amount owed, or repossess the collateral. If the collateral is repossessed, notices are required under California Civil Code Section 1812.2, and the buyer has a 10 day redemption period. If election is made to repossess, no deficiency is permitted.
