| Fair Debt Collection Practices The Iowa Debt Collection Practices Act (Iowa Code Sections 537.7101 - 537.7103) governs the activities and prohibited acts of debt collectors. This Act is part of the Iowa Consumer Credit Code (Iowa Code, Chapter 537) which provides broad coverage on consumer transactions and imposes limitations on creditor's remedies. Violation of any of its provisions may subject debt collectors and creditors to damages and civil liabilities. Iowa Consumer Protection The office of the Hon. LAWDOG has seen. The first page includes a concise description of duties of the office,
and the Iowa Consumer Protection Laws, described below. The first page also links
important notices issued to the public, with brief descriptions of each, in chronological
order, links to Attorney General Opinions of Iowa, a Guide to those opinions, and Iowa
