| Fair Debt Collection Practices
Title 31, Chapter 358C of the New Hampshire Revised Statutes prohibits unfair, deceptive and unreasonable collection practices against consumers. Some of the prohibited acts include communications with the debtor, his employment or third parties that are abusive, oppressive or constitute harassment, use or threats to use force or violence, threats to take any unlawful action, and making materially false representations of the character, extent or amount of the debt or of its status in any legal proceeding.
