| Fair Debt Collection Practices:
The Oregon Revised Statutes contain certain provisions governing debt collection practices (ORS 646.639). These provisions generally mirror that of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (15 U.S.C. 1692 et seq.) Under O.R.S. 646.643 a debt collector who is subject to and in compliance with the requirements of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (Public Law 95-109, 15 U.S.C. 1692 et seq.) may be considered to be in compliance with the requirements of ORS 646.639. |
